An HC course price is only useful when you know exactly what is being compared. Our weekday HC course costs $2,490, while the weekend or public-holiday course costs $3,100. Extra lessons and reassessment have separate prices. Keeping those items distinct gives you a useful starting budget without treating every possible later service as something you must purchase.

If you are researching “HC licence cost Perth”, start with the course booking that fits your availability, then consider any additional training and the applicable government fees separately. The figures below are our current advertised rates, not a fixed quote for every learner’s complete licensing pathway. Your budget should identify what each amount buys and who charges it.

The Weekday HC Course Price

Our weekday HC price covers a course advertised as 10 hours. This is the starting figure for comparing weekday bookings, not an hourly lesson rate. A useful comparison needs to account for the course structure as well as the price, so a shorter offering or an assessment-only arrangement should not automatically be treated as the same purchase.

Our HC course is TLIC3005 Drive heavy combination vehicle, with two-day, one-on-one training from experienced and accredited trainer/assessors. That individual training arrangement matters when considering course value: compare the learning format alongside the advertised hours. A price alone cannot tell you whether two courses give you the same type of instructor attention or practical learning arrangement.

Successful completion of the online theory and practical assessments is required for the unit’s Statement of Attainment. After successful unit completion and issuance of that statement, you become eligible to undertake the Department of Transport Practical Driving Assessment, conducted by our DoT-approved assessors. These are distinct milestones, so paying for training should not be confused with automatically receiving an upgraded licence.

Eligibility also affects when a course booking will be useful. For an HC upgrade, Transport WA requires you not to be a provisional licence holder and to have held a car licence for at least three years, plus an MR or HR licence for at least one year. If you are approaching one of those milestones, use the actual holding date when planning your training enquiry. An affordable attendance option is only a useful starting point if it fits your upgrade pathway as well as your roster.

Weekend And Public-Holiday Pricing

The higher weekend or public-holiday course rate is a separate booking category. For a driver weighing up the options, the practical question is not simply which number is lower. It is whether weekday attendance can be accommodated without creating a problem with work, travel or other commitments. Choose a category you can realistically attend before building the rest of your budget.

Consider your own scheduling costs alongside the course amount. For example, a weekday booking might involve arranging leave, while weekend attendance might fit an existing roster more easily. Those personal costs are not our training charges, but keeping them in a separate column can make the decision clearer. Avoid folding lost income or travel into a figure labelled solely as the course price.

Our HC pricing separates weekday and weekend/public-holiday rates for the course, extra lessons and reassessment. Each service has its own attendance category. Budget an extra lesson at the rate for the day that lesson will take place: $265 per hour on weekdays or $295 per hour on weekends or public holidays. The original course category does not determine which lesson rate to use.

Understanding The Course Hours

For both booking categories, our advertised 10-hour course includes eight hours of on-road training, split into 5.5 hours on day one and 2.5 hours on day two. This allocation helps you understand the practical training commitment across the two days. The published pricing details do not specify how the remaining two hours are allocated.

The course duration and on-road allocation describe different things. Eight hours identifies the stated driving-training component; 10 hours identifies the advertised course length. Neither figure, by itself, establishes arrival times, breaks, finishing times or the exact timing of every assessment activity.

Our HC course sets out the unit and assessment pathway. Allow space in your preparation plan for the online theory as well as practical attendance. Do not assume that time behind the wheel represents all the work involved, or assign a separate online theory charge where none has been identified in the advertised HC prices.

Extra Lessons Have Their Own Rate

Our HC extra lessons cost $265 per hour on weekdays and $295 per hour on weekends or public holidays. These are additional hourly services, not alternative names for the standard course. Their hourly pricing is useful when considering a specific amount of further instruction, whereas the course price describes the advertised course arrangement.

When comparing our HC training at Blue Horse Truck Driver Training, keep additional practice tied to a specific learning need. For example, describe the part of your driving you want help developing before allocating a block of extra hours. That gives a training discussion a practical focus without assuming that every learner needs the same amount of additional instruction.

For a proposed extra lesson, the useful details are its purpose, length and attendance day. A learner considering weekday practice after a weekend course should use the weekday lesson rate for that proposed practice. Conversely, weekend practice after a weekday course belongs at the weekend lesson rate. These examples explain how to read the price categories; they are not promises that a particular lesson time is available.

Reassessment Is A Separate Service

Our HC reassessment charge is $990 on weekdays and $1,090 on weekends or public holidays. Reassessment is listed separately from extra lessons and the initial course. It belongs in a different part of your budget because an assessment service and additional practical instruction are not interchangeable purchases, even if you are considering both at the same time.

For an initial course comparison, keep reassessment visible as a possible later cost rather than automatically adding it to every learner’s starting amount. Equally, do not assume that an extra lesson purchases another assessment attempt. Naming the intended service clearly is more useful than referring to a general “extra session”, which leaves the purpose and price category uncertain.

Our student information includes links to our fees, charges and refund policy, cancellation/no-show policy and student handbook. Use those documents for the terms relevant to a booking change or payment question. A reassessment price is not, on its own, an explanation of cancellation arrangements, credits or refunds, so keep those decisions separate from the price comparison.

If you defer your PDA or are not ready to sit it, we keep the assessment in credit for a maximum of three months from your last date of training. That timeframe concerns a deferred assessment, not a general promise that any course booking can be moved on the same terms. If assessment timing is unresolved, identify it during the booking discussion so you understand which arrangements apply.

Government Fees And Training Charges

Government licensing fees are separate from our commercial training charges, and the official fee category depends on the assessment channel. Transport WA distinguishes HC assessment through an authorised RTO from assessment administered by the department or Police. That distinction matters because a government assessment amount should not simply be added to an RTO course as though both assessment channels apply together.

Transport WA lists the HC driver’s licence class application with an RTO separately from the HC supplementary PDA administered by DTMI/Police. Its RTO assessment guidance explains the channels and their fees. Match the official description to your pathway before using it in a personal estimate, and keep the government amount labelled separately from our course or reassessment charge.

Passing the PDA is not the final administrative step: Transport WA requires you to visit a DTMI service centre or regional agent for licence endorsement before you are authorised to drive the upgraded heavy vehicle class. This is another reason to distinguish training, assessment and licensing administration. A course budget should support the whole process without implying that one payment completes every stage.

Making A Useful Course Comparison

A sound price comparison begins with the same booking category. Compare weekday attendance with weekday attendance, and weekend or public-holiday attendance with a genuinely comparable arrangement. Then consider the practical training hours, individual instruction and assessment pathway. Put those details beside each course amount so you can identify whether a lower price also means fewer driving-training hours or a different teaching format.

A useful comparison sheet has room for both the amount and the scope of each offer. Beside the course price, record the advertised duration, stated on-road hours and training format. Beside any proposed additional service, record what it is for and when it would occur. Leave an unresolved inclusion as a question, not a zero-dollar assumption. This gives you a concrete way to compare offers without treating missing information as a saving.

Turn The Advertised Price Into A Booking Budget

Your working budget should now distinguish the course you intend to book from services that remain conditional. Keep your preferred attendance category, any proposed extra instruction and the relevant government fee description together for the booking discussion. The aim is a cost breakdown that reflects your actual plans, with unresolved items clearly identified, rather than an inflated total containing every available service.

For a booking-specific cost breakdown, contact us to discuss your preferred weekday or weekend attendance and any extra instruction you are considering. Request the course and additional services as separate line items, with government fees identified independently, so the amount you commit to is clear before you arrange leave or travel.
